Katsansis conducts in vitro and in vivo studies to understand the genetic and cellular basis of rare genetic disorders, using a variety of model systems. Tishkoff studies genetic and phenotypic variation in ethnically diverse African populations.

ASHG’s membership includes nearly 8,000 researchers, academicians, clinicians, laboratory practice professionals, genetic counselors, nurses, and others with an interest in human genetics. Katsanis and Tishkoff will be joined on the Board by ASHG President-Elect Nancy J. Cox, PhD, and Charles N. Rotimi, PhD.
