​​Siu Sylvia Lee

Senior Editor

Siu Sylvia Lee is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University. She received a BA in Biochemistry from Rice University in 1995 and a PhD from Baylor College of Medicine in 1999. She received her postdoctoral training at the Department of Molecular Biology of Massachusetts General Hospital and the Department of Genetics of Harvard Medical School, where she was awarded a Damon Runyon Cancer Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. Her lab is interested in elucidating the conserved molecular pathways that modulate longevity. The research focuses on using the powerful genetic model roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans to identify and functionally characterize the evolutionarily conserved genetic determinants important for longevity. 

Minou Nowrousian 

Associate Editor

Minou Nowrousian earned her diploma and PhD in Biology at the Ruhr-University Bochum in the laboratory of Dr. Ulrich Kück working in molecular biology of fungi. During her postdoc at Dartmouth Medical School in the laboratory of Dr. Jay Dunlap and Dr. Jennifer Loros, she worked on circadian rhythms in Neurospora. She is currently a research fellow at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Botany at the Ruhr-University Bochum. Her group combines molecular genetics and bioinformatics to study the molecular mechanisms and evolution of fungal development. A focus of her work is the analysis of the regulation of gene expression during development using genomics and transcriptomics.
